Mortgage 101: What the MLO Exam did not teach you
About This Training
This foundational class gives new and aspiring loan officers the practical knowledge the MLO exam never covered. You’ll learn what questions to ask potential buyers, which documents to request, how to spot red flags, and what the actual max DTI ratios are — because what they teach you on the exam is not even close to accurate. We’ll walk through how to input a loan, how to run AUS correctly, and the everyday skills you need to navigate real files with confidence.
Every session is taught live on Zoom and runs a full hour, with time for your questions. Bring a file you’re stuck on.
What You’ll Learn
- The questions to ask a buyer on the very first call
- Which documents to request up front — and why the order matters
- How to input a loan and run AUS correctly the first time
- The real max DTI ratios lenders work to, not the exam version
- How to spot the red flags that stall a file before underwriting ever sees it
Who It’s For
New and aspiring loan officers, recently licensed MLOs, and processors who want to understand the front end of the file. No prior experience needed.
